My level 3 art folio is all about mental health issue. I came up doing with this topic because I
observed that most of the people nowadays especially teenagers are struggling with depression.
Some are depressed because they feel they aren’t enough, or they feel like they are not worth it.
Too bad and sad at the same time that many people have this kind of mindset. It actually takes
time to think of any idea or theme for the whole board. At first I thought of using galaxy themed
folio or about addiction in social media. However I ended up doing mental health issue as my theme
because I want to show how serious this case is, also I want to help those people who actually
under this kind of issue. I think I will struggle as I use this theme, because I haven't done any
artwork before that connected with mental issue. However, I want to challenge myself and I want
to go beyond my limits and see how far can I go. I also want to learn new techniques with different
mediums.

I will search artists model and try to learn their technique, and I will try to establish it on my board. I

On my first board, I want to show how depression can wreck a mindset of any individual. Sometimes, those people who have this mental health issue are scared of being a disappointment to other people and has fear of failure. They feel like they’re drowning, but they can see everyone around them breathing. I planned to sketch my artworks for the first half of my first board, then I will introduce watercolour media at the other half of my first panel. I planned a board layout so that I will know what size of paper to use, and what media I will used for every piece. 

On my first artwork, I used a girl as my subject matter. This artwork shows that the girl is looking at the mirror. She’s judging herself, she’s doubting her capabilities, she’s looking at herself as if she’s the worst person in the world. I used pencil sketch as my medium for this piece because as I said, I want to use pencil sketches for the first half of my first panel.

On my second piece, I used a girl flipping her hair. If you didn’t notice the water merge on the woman’s face and there is hand reaching for her tears. I wanted to introduce the idea of water/ocean, that is why I came with this idea.

My third artwork is one of my favourite artwork in my folio. The face of the girl in this artwork is broken into half, and there is water rushed between the crack. The water portrays how the girl is thinking, messy, confused and chaotic. 

I actually struggle on thinking any idea on my second and third artwork. So I tried to search up some paintings that I can use as model.
